PhD position in AI and multimodal digital liver pathology at KU Leuven, Belgium. Research field: Computer science. If you're at the phd stage, this belongs on your shortlist. Requirements differ by year and track, so confirm the current criteria on the official source linked below. This is partial funding — it reduces your costs but won't cover everything. Map out the gap early: tuition minus award, plus living costs, and line up a plan for the remainder before you apply. The deadline is 2026-11-17. Work backwards: give yourself at least 3–4 weeks for documents (transcripts, letters, test scores) and 1–2 weeks for the actual application writing. Use the official application channel linked on this page. Be wary of anyone charging "processing fees" — real opportunities don't work that way. Before applying, do three things. First, compare your profile against every listed requirement and address gaps honestly in your cover letter — "I haven't used X, but I learned Y in two weeks on my last project" beats silence. Second, check the organization's website and recent news so your application references something current. Third, line up references who can speak to relevant work. After applying, note the deadline and follow up once if you hear nothing in 2–3 weeks. Keep applying elsewhere in parallel — never pause your search for one application. The most overlooked step is document readiness. Order official transcripts now — universities take weeks. Confirm your referees and give them your CV plus bullet points about what you'd like emphasized; it makes their letters stronger and faster. Keep digital and physical copies of everything in one folder. When the portal opens, you'll submit in an hour instead of panicking for a week.
