Erasmus Mundus Guide: Joint Masters Across Europe
Erasmus Mundus Guide: Joint Masters Across Europe
Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters are among the most generous scholarships in the world: full tuition, €1,400/month living allowance, travel and installation costs — for a Master's degree studied across 2-4 European countries.
How it works
- Each Erasmus Mundus consortium (a group of universities running one joint program) handles its own admissions. You apply directly to the program, not to the EU.
- There are 100+ programs covering everything from data science to public health. Browse the official catalogue and shortlist 2-3 that fit your background.
- You can apply to a maximum of 3 programs per year.
Eligibility
- A Bachelor's degree (or final year) in a related field. Each program sets its own GPA and subject requirements — read them carefully.
- English proficiency (IELTS 6.5+ typically). No separate scholarship form — admission application doubles as scholarship application.
Timeline and tips
- Deadlines: December-February for programs starting that September. This is the single biggest filter — most people discover Erasmus too late.
- Motivation letter matters most. With thousands of applicants per program, your letter must explain why *this specific consortium* and what you'll do with a multi-country degree.
- Apply to all 3 allowed programs to triple your chances. A rejection from one says nothing about the others.
